  • This garbage has cost me so much,,we cannot use a rarter as data is so corrupt. TAms finally “adjusted” my cost after I complaine THE FIRST DAY..and 6 months later..I get at first threatened with collection..and told Harey K was working to make everything right. Another LIS\E..checked his Linkin..he quit Vertafore 16 months before.!
    Tonight I spent 10 hours as I know some coding..to see 125 task failed..garbage.!
    We have lost DL” SS” family relationship..BANK and Company info..
    This is a ridiculous garbage. All data lost..their suggestion is have my CSR do data entry on over 1,500 clients !
    I did not pay them and initiated a suit..and we have 650 agents in our group.. The result was $3,500 in payment to me..which is NOTHING compared to this disaster.
    STAY AWAY..!!!!!

    So bad a programmer actually set me up on Catalst WEB BASED..
    Intuitive..no resident program on our computer,,accesible from phone..or tablet.
    This ^&%&^ bought FSC which worked well and instant supoort. Vertafore sets up a “ticket” that NEVER gets addressed..

    We switched to the online version about a year ago and every so often we have slow periods. Today is the first time we have been out for an extended period of time (>3 hours). Let’s hope this get this moving fast!!!

    If you plan to convert to AMS360, budget for a consultant and/or full-time accounting firm. AMS360 is the most complex, error prone, useless data entry system, I’ve ever used. It’s so bad Angela Adams Consulting has an entire firm dedicated to helping AMS360 users. There are also 10 different ways to complete a basic task which creates mass confusion in an agency of any size. I just hope my comments will prevent another agency from going through the pain we’ve experienced.

    Converting to AMS360 has been the worst decision I’ve made since I started my agency. The Vertafore sales department promises the world however the integration/execution is far from adequate. AMS360 is an extremely expensive and complicated system. Save yourself a lot of time and money and research other options that actually work.

    We’ve been on AMS360 since v3.5 back in 2009, and, sure, there’s been some rocky times, as there would be with any software and evolving technology. Overall, though, we’ve been very successful with it and have been very pleased and impressed with every update. I’m very surprised by many of the comments posted here, and would also like to point out that many of the issues that people complained about have been resolved. To me, Vertafore does care, very much, about their users, and are committed to updating the product to meet the needs of agencies.

    What a joke. AMS360 is still not Windows 10 compatible. So we cannot upgrade our computers at work. And since I work from home occasionally, I cannot upgrade my home computer since I have to use AMS360 off my computer as well. When is this company going to get with the times and upgrade their system to the present???? If they were not the cheapest system out there, I think everybody would have jumped ship by now.

  • Interested in drastically reducing your efficiency and revenue per employee? 360 is for you. Want to increase your blood pressure and crush your employees’ morale? Get 360. Seriously folks, our agency has been around for over 80 years and has always been highly successful and a great place to work. In 2015 we converted from AMS for Windows to 360 and it’s been downhill since. Do not make the same mistake that we did. Look hard at other options.

  • interesting to read these comments 12 years after converting from Redshaw to AMS 360. What a piece of crap. Nothing was intuitive about it. I managed to get my $12,000 back and converted to Instar. That was a great system. It is since gone I guess. I sold the agency to a larger organization. They had Sagitta. Also a piece of crap. I am glad I bailed after 36 years. Nothing seems to have changed for the better. You would think after 40 years of automation there would be easy to use systems.. Maybe there are now.

  • 360 & Vertafore are terrible – run FAR and FAST!: We “upgraded” (which I refer to as “downgraded:) from AFW to 360 because Vertafore stopped supporting AFW. People who actually have to WORK and SUPPORT CLIENTS are depressed, frustrated and unhappy due to this new platform. It is the single worst thing that has happened to my agency in over 20 years. Vertafore does not care to help with problems. Also, 360 is cumbersome, unintuitive and slower than death. Do not take this review lightly. My agency has spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours trying to improve the way this works, and we actually have GIVEN UP. Feel free to call me before you buy this. 585-593-4296

  • Weve used AMS360 for 9 years and are now shopping. Improvements to the software seem to come from a select few large users, making upgrades mostly useless to our PL agency. Thank God that Im a techie and can figure out things. Support calls are usually fruitless. Availabe reporting is very limted unless you can afford to add on very pricey modules. The saving grace is that we dont have to worry about maintai ing our data and the integrated electronic filing.

  • Vertafore has gotten so large and purchased so many other smaller vendors that it seems they are not laser focused on improving the flagship products. We’ve been AfW/AMS360 users for over 15 and have been frustrated the entire time. The product is very expensive, new features and innovative ideas are MIA, and tech support is terrible. I’ve looked at EPIC and cannot see where it is much better than AMS360 and the disruption to the agency would be overwhelming. There is nothing worse that feeling stuck in a “marriage” with an expensive software package, provided by a vendor you dislike.

    And by the way Vertafore, the “NextGen” view of AMS360 absolutely sucks. It’s a step backwards from the classic view in so many ways. While I look forward to a browser-agnostic platform, your designers have create a layout that is less-efficient to use and visually cluttered.

    Horrible horrible horrible. I wish my agency had changed when we were considering it. But they lowered the price considerably, so we stuck with it. It’s too bad. I loathe it. I’ve dealt with programming languages such as Perl and C++, but this is by far the most non-intuitive program I have ever used in my entire life. None of it makes any sense.

    I’m trying to steer away from Quickbooks and using the accounting system in AMS360, but none of it makes any logical sense. It’s ridiculously difficult to learn and it shouldn’t be this hard. Training and support are non-existent. They basically throw a bunch of videos at you whenever you have an issue.

    I wished we moved away from this, but since every other we know was using it, we stuck with it. Bummer.

    What joke, we switched to windows 10 and then they tell us that they are not compatible with windows 10. Why our rep (Robin) did not contact us to tell us this before hand is beyond me. The tech guys have messed up the computers trying to get them to work. I have spent more time on the phone with them this week than I have spent working.

    Made the HORRIBLE mistake of installing this system in my agency over 4 years ago, and I’ve only learned to hate my job because of it’s complicated and cumbersome features. My staff has been frustrated, and now that I’m leaving Vertafore has jerked me around about my backups. I was told that my data was backed up, and that it was mailed…LIES…My account rep quit returning calls/emails, and all they want to do is “take a message” and have someone get back to me….I literally had to raise hell to finally be told that my data wasn’t backed up, let alone mailed already!!! This product is archaic, cumbersome, and the support takes a long time to get through. Anytime you have an issue, half hour!!! The modules are hard to understand, and every aspect of this product is just illogical, and hard to grasp!!! Don’t just walk away from this product, RUN!!! So now, 17 days after I was done with them, they still haven’t backed up my data….they were all too willing to charge me $1500 for a copy of “MY DATA” prior to termination date, but since I didn’t pay their extortionist prices for MY OWN DATA, they are screwing me around and making me pay the price for not paying the price!!! Dirty rotten SOB’s this company is run by, dirty rotten SOB’s!!!

    I have not been go live yet and already regretting the move. I am converting from Instar to AMS 360 and honestly it feels as a downgrade not an upgrade. If you considering AMS360, do not make the same mistake I made. See all center/functions as the accounting and form letter/proposal are horrible at best and the system is full of redundancy and unnecessary tabs/sections. I finish training and will be going live in two days so I do not have much choices at this time.

  • This product is the worst thing that has ever happened to my agency. It is slow, poorly thought out and just terrible. We migrated from AFW because we were forced to by Vertafore when they stopped supporting AFW. RUN to another system. We are trapped – don’t let that happen to you

    Avoid at all costs. Defying all logic, Vertafore deletes functionality and renders their products useless without warning.

    We are a commercial agency, and rely heavily on the 24/7 program that allows our clients to generate their own certificates online. Recently, the geniuses at Vertafore decided to eliminate the functionality of this program entirely without warning.

    We generate thousands, if not tens of thousands, of certificates a year. In their infinite wisdom, Vertafore decided to eliminate the ability to check off the Additional Insured and Waiver of Sub. boxes on the master certificate.

    So now, when a client generates a new cert online, their cert doesn’t have those boxes checked. Therefore, 99% of them get rejected by the building or entity requesting the cert and our office has to reissue every single one in house. What used to be automatic and online, is now costing us a tremendous amount of time and money as we’ve had to hire additional staff just to issue certs.

    Vertafore is incapable of providing any reason for the change and is so poorly run that they can’t even say if this will be fixed or not. Our sales rep has refused to answer our emails or phone calls.

    There must be a better system out there.

    Newsletter and these reviews. I’ve been a MI User for years now and loved it. But now AMS has puts
    Chased them and has put them out of business. I was not happy with the huge increase in cost but thought that I would convert to 360 ANYWAY UNTIL READING THESE REVIEWS. Sounds like Applied when I left them a few years back.

    I will keep looking.

    I am a Prime Online user and am very disappointed in Vertafore’s handling of the transition of this platform. We are a small agency and have been dedicated to the in house version of Prime in 1999 and repositioned to Prime Online in 2005 and just not happy with the way it has been done here. I am not a new customer but I feel like they have fed me to this “shark” of a salesman and I can not get a good “vibe” here at all. I know I am ok until Dec. 2015 but I want to do my research before I commit to another product. I am so small that this decision could make or break my agency and all this sales guy can see is a “sale.” Not happy in North Carolina.

  • Just moved and I am very disappointed in AMS 360!
    Not as advertised.
    The accounting is not user friendly.
    Why not consult with actual Ins. Agents who will be using
    this before creating such a difficult system.
    We are spending hours with tech support to resolve simple processes!!!

  • This program is a piece of shit. No support.. They take your money and could care less. I have never seen an organization work like this. If you’re seriously considering this system, do yourself a fav and keep looking.. Enough said. This program is like reinventing the wheel. Losers..

    We did a big mistake committing to this system. They take the money upfront for the training and they force you onto their schedule. There are different people from different regions training you of different sections. They themselves do not know the whole system – how do they expect agencies to learn them. The sales guy (Cody) keeps calling you till you commit and then he disappears – no news – never even call to see how it is going. DO NOT PAY ANY MONEY UPFRONT. And Vertafore is not cheap.
    There are other systems out there where they will let you use the system for a whole month before you are ready to go ahead.

  • as a commercial producer, I hate this system. If I was older this would have pushed me into retirement. A year later, it is still very difficult for me to even do apps. Everything is much more difficult. I can’t say if accounting likes this system, or if it does some slick reports, I just know it has made my life much more difficult. Obviously designed by people not involved with this industry. Who knew ” progress” would suck so bad.

  • Our small agency has been with vertafore and prior company all the way back to the beginning when I had an inhouse system with only 12k memory and several disc. I have moved past the prime and now with AMS360 online. there is a lot of power that I am not using and at times have thought about looking because it is pricey for a small agency like mine. However, each time I have chosen not to move. The two most important issues for me is I can work from anywhere and I no longer have to worry about computor crashes. I would like to use more of the power that I have, but simply do not have the time – I operate alone with my wife as a backup if necessary. Furthermore, I have never figured out why an agent would want a seperate accounting system like some other systems would need.

  • PL Rater is replete with problems. It is supposed to offer quotes on a comparative basis. Try using variables that one company has and another does not like $2000 deductibles for comp and collision. Your wasting your time. The more sophisticated the company the less valuable PL Rater is>>>CRQ is worse

    As an agency principal and producer and I certainly understand (and to some degree echo) the sentiments of Ray’s review. However, I find that AMS360 works fine if used as intended. Some of our producers that have used Applied have complaints, initially, but eventually learn to use 360 productively. The Acord forms are data driven not WYSIWYG like AfW (the old AMS for Windows product) and sometimes the screens can be laid out strange, especially if you haven’t looked at them for while.

    My biggest complaint with Vertafore, in general, is how unreponsive the tech support department can be at times. Submitting a ticket when we need something fixed NOW is frustrating. For what we pay every month (over $3k) I really would expect to be able to call and talk to a person.

    I am excited about future versions of AMS360 that don’t rely on .net for the backend. Being able to access our management system on an iPad or even a smartphone will be huge.

    Please note that I’m speaking strictly from a commercial producers perspective. The system may be of value to accounting departments and principals but for producers its Absolute garbage! I’ve been entering applications for 10 years on this system and I pull my hair out every time. You can tell that the software engineers know nothing about my job. There are bugs everywhere. One example is the “other occupancies” section of the accord commercial property application. It gives you room to type in 3 lines of information but only prints out the first line. This means you are completely unaware that pertinent underwriting information has been deleted from the application. Of course I’ve had our IT people submit a “ticket” but it never gets fixed just like all the other bugs that you have to constantly remind yourself about as your doing applications. Years ago, I had asked to no avail, about a spell check feature. I write detailed explanations of the operations in remarks sections and on their accord 125 and I have to cut copy and paste into word and back again just to spell check. We are in this business to write business. AMS 360 does not help you to achieve that.

    We’ve been with Vertafore/AMS360 for several years now and are still learning the full potential of the system. It is easy to use for our agents but has great depth in what you can do with it. We recently looked at another, cheaper system, but didn’t feel it was worth the cost savings. Vertafore is heavily invested in their products and is constantly taking user feedback to improve their already great product!

    We’ve been an AMS/Vertafore customer for 25+ years using their management systems (currently AMS360 & BenefitPoint) as well as other products such as Producer Plus. They continue to make improvements based on user feeback and have provided us with top notch sevice when we do run into problems. Our active participation in the user’s group (NetVU) helps to increase the value we receive for our technology $’s. We’ve looked at other systems over the years but Vertafore continues to be our vendor of choice.

    We’ve used AMS/Vertafore software for over a decade. We are currently using AMS360 in house. This setup works best for us since we have the expertese to run it in house, and are a rather large agency. Otherwise we’d use the on-line version. AMS360 provides the best tools for getting so many things done. Plus Vertafore’s work with automation and real time processing makes some of our lines of business a piece of cake.

    It’s not 100% perfect, but Vertafore seems to be willing to change as they move foward, though sometimes slowly. And, their tech support methods can be frustrating at times. Fortuantely most of their techs are very well trained and great people to work with. Also, the system is so deep in features that proper training is a must in order to use AMS360 to it’s fullest. Overall though I can’t imagine using another system to get the same work done today.

    We have been long time Safecom/AGENA/AMS/Vertafore agents. Overall pleased with the service and support they offer. Like everything else in this world, it is not getting cheaper. With Vertafore’s new initiative to get updates sooner to the agents this should be nice. It seems like in the past enhancements were/are slow coming. We are use the hosted version of AMS360 and have been online since 12/2008. One area concerns me is if we had to cease operation today how expensive will it be for me to have a local single user system to look up past information.
