Horrible. We try to use for commercial, but very slow. Rude techs, loses connection daily. Look for other software than this. They also CHARG to you train you on this software.

Before posting here I decided to read what others have said about HawkSoft and I am surprised at the negativity posted. I have had HawkSoft since 2010. I am an agency that has grown with HawkSoft and I must say they have taken care of me very well.

The past few years they have offered a HawkSoft User Group conference where hundreds of us who use HawkSoft from around the nation come to learn from HawkSoft. I have had the pleasure to talk to Paul and Sean, the owners, face to face. I gave them ideas and they replied very favorably!

To answer “Anonymous'” question in a nutshell: Yes, HawkSoft can do what you asked with the accounting they have set up. HawkSoft integrates with QuickBooks as well so accounting is easier than other management systems I’ve worked with.

I disagree with the person who said they want accounting within the system. QuickBooks is already well known and works for the whole office, not just the customers as other accounting integrated systems do. Plus, my book keeper already knows QuickBooks.

I had HawkSoft Online for a couple years and admit that I wasn’t impressed with the online part even though the software worked well. I understand that HawkSoft now has multiple online options that fix the issues with getting kicked out and slowness that I experienced.

My two favorite things about HawkSoft are 1, HawkSoft never breaks. Each time I thought it has broken Customer Service has worked with me and the trouble has been on my side! My second favorite thing about HawkSoft is the people, especially Customer Service. After all these years my staff never has to wait more than three minutes and we’re helped often under one minute. Customer Service usually helps in just one phone call and if they can’t help their escalation people are also top-notch.

Overall I have been pleased with HawkSoft. I am glad that there are other alternatives to the online hosting, I may just try online again!

  • I’m considering Hawksoft. I’m a 12 person agency that specializes in commercial insurance especially in long-haul trucking and transportation. Does the accounting system track commission transfers properly, producer pay, GA company payments? Can it track fleets of vehicles that are more than 20 with ease within a policy? 90% of our business is agency billed and I’m in a system now where the accounting is a nightmare. I appreciate any flaws you all have encountered as well as the best aspects of the system.

We have had the online version of Hawksoft since 2014 for our two locations. We continually get disconnected and when we are reconnected our outlook will not come back and we have to call support and wait for a call back. The online system is not reliable.

Bad experience with the trainer, when we signed up for the program we were told that during tax season that they would be available to us and work around our schedule. That was a joke, received a harsh email from one of the trainers, mentioned to other staff and never heard from anyone until I did not make that payment, then I had everyone calling me. Chris did not even bother to contact me and when he did that attitude that he had when we signed up (even after telling him that I had a bad experience) changed its like he was excusing his trainers behavior. I will not recommend to anyone!

  • We moved from AMS to Hawksoft last summer. We followed the roll over procedures to the letter. Somehow between the roll over and the update that immediately followed, we lost all of our data, Many years of work and sensitive information have flat disappeared. Hawksoft is unable to retrieve it which has caused us significant expense and stress. So far they are made no offer of compensation.

Ridiculously slow and its stuck in the stone ages. I work for an agency that uses this. Everyone complains but the owner just dont have the time to find us a new system. Its just so old. Anyway, I don’t recommend it.

I’ve been on Applied Systems for many years and recently changed jobs and went to Hawksoft. What a flipping nightmare! This thing makes you go so many places to do things it’s a joke. I’ve worked with AMS as well and though I didn’t care for it at least you could do things quickly. I give this program a big thumbs down.

Been using Hawksoft for about 6 months now. We have the remote desktop or online access version.
I really like Hawksoft but have to say the online version has multiple issues Mostly, when we bridge over to a carrier using the built in internet explorer the speed is too slow to use in an office setting. It can take 30 to 60 seconds for some pages to load, whereas if we use our direct connection outside the Hawksoft program then load almost instantaneously.
The group overseeing this functionality is The Kotter Group. Apparently they are upgrading their servers over the next few months and we have been promised significant improvement in performance. Until then we are stuck with the sub par access.

I have had hawksoft since 2008 and I love it. It’s easy, dependable and fully funcational. I have about 30 folks and it still works as well as when it was 2 of us. I highly recommend it.

I have now had this system for over a year and love it. I am mostly a commercial agency and find the issuance of certificates to be quick and easy. I no longer hate issuing certificates!

The downloads are working very well. The carrier website link is quick and easy. You can even map the fields to allow for quick and easy quoting.

I don’t use commission accounting so I cannot state how that works. I like how it links with QuickBooks.

I highly recommend this program and the company. They have been great to work with!

We just completed our first year since converting to Hawksoft swithching from Vertafore. The conversion of data was more complete than any of the other vendors offered. The system worked as promised and since going live we have just had our second upgrade. The upgrades go very fast with no problems ans each has added features we have found to be very useful for our operation. Our favorite feature is that it works easily with our office phone system. Our customer screen pops up with the incoming call so we can provide quick service to our clients.

  • We use the online version of Hawksoft and it was fine until a recent conversion by the online host “Kotter Group”. Since November it has been so slow we are considering abandoning the online system and hosting it locally. Has anybody else experience painfully slow response times lately?

Not real thrilled with this program at this point. Yes, it is affordable. But the bottom line is that the software’s accounting is still done on Quickbooks. It is not a fully functional accounting system that was made for an insurance agency. I would probably choose a system that has an integrated accounting module. The screen to screen flow just seems unnatural. My employees didn’t have a hard time learning the software but now that we’re full speed ahead with Hawksoft they are saying they enjoyed the visual layout of our previous system a lot more.

We’ve been extremely satisfied users of Hawksoft since November 2002 when we converted from an AMS system. We’ve never regretted the decision. Hawksoft is very intuitive. Recently a new employee with no insurance experience received two hours of training and was creating renewal letters and updating files by lunchtime! Almost every employee of Hawksoft has worked for insurance agencies in the past, so the know and understand our needs. The company has been very responsive when we’ve suggested new features, and updates to new versions are automatic and free! When I share some of Hawksoft’s features with agency-owner friends with other “legacy” systems, they can’t belive the robust features and the very affordable price structure. If Hawksoft ever ceased to exist, I’d seriously consider selling my agency.

Jumped from Doris to Hawksoft and never looked back. Conversion was a little time consuming but all 12,000 files moved. Their ability to scan, drag and drop from whereever is great. Updates are regular and seamless. Information from downloads filters into readable areas. Support works well if you ever need them. And the best part we saved a lot of money after the conversion.
We chose to have our system in house – do not want our info out on someone elses machine that we cannot access if the net is down.
